Hawk Meet & Greet is a series of interviews that immerse you in the dynamic daily life of the company’s employees. Each month, discover a new person through a unique and immersive testimony. Meet Oksana Hareau, UX-UI Designer at Hawk.
Can you quickly introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Oksana, I am 25 years old. I am a UX-UI designer and I have been working at Hawk for 9 months. I graduated from Kedge Design School (located in Marseille) in 2020. My training focused on global and social design oriented towards the user experience. It is through my professional experience that I moved towards digital design. Moreover, I am a young dynamic woman, fan of mountains and sports 🙂
What is your position and role at Hawk?
I am a UX (User experience) and UI (User interface) designer. I participate in the design of new features on the Hawk platform.
For each project, I carry out research phases in order to understand the problems and user needs. This allows me to carry out co-design workshops with team members in order to draw, prototype and imagine future screens. I design interactive mock-ups that will be tested to assess usability. Finally, I define the visual identity and graphics of the interface according to the given strategy.
I mainly work in collaboration with the product owners for the design part and the front-end developers for the development and feasibility of the mock-ups.
What impressed you the most when you joined the company?
The warmth of the staff and the dynamism of the teams! 🙂
What do your days consist of and what are your daily challenges?
My days are never the same! As a designer, each project leads to very different working methods depending on the problem and the need. I usually have to work on two or three projects at the same time.
My biggest challenge is to think about very complex subjects that require a great deal of understanding and research in order to fully understand the need.
In your opinion, what is your greatest success at Hawk?
I would say that my greatest success is to gradually bring a design culture into the company. Through my projects, I am able to demonstrate the importance of human-centric research to better understand the needs for our new interfaces.
What 3 adjectives would your team use to describe you?
Sociable, passionate and determined 🙂
Finally, what message would you give to future employees?
If you like challenges, the tech world and a good office atmosphere, then you’re in the right place!
