Each month, meet a new member of our team – this month we speak with Matthieu Domont, Artistic Director at Hawk!
Can you quickly introduce yourself?
My name is Matthieu Domont. I’ve been with Hawk for seven years. I joined the company when we were just a small team of twenty people in Paris. I started as a graphic designer to support the Artistic Director at the time. I then progressed to Junior Artistic Director and now Artistic Director.
What exactly is your position and role at Hawk?
I work in the creative department, a team of 6 people. As an Artistic Director, my role is to respond to clients’ needs by creating the best advertising experiences possible in terms of graphics, for a variety of brands and on different media platforms. I also design and create demos for our sales team, to attract new potential customers for campaigns.
What struck you most when you first joined the adventure?
Two things particularly struck me when I joined the Hawk adventure. Firstly, my arrival at the company was a new departure for me. I was welcomed by people who were motivated and ready to share their knowledge. At the time, it was still a small start-up.
Then I was impressed by the company’s development. Without even realising it, the number of employees had tripled. The small company had become big! There were new challenges, new colleagues, new premises and even a new name: Hawk was born.
What do your days consist of and what are your day-to-day challenges?
My days generally start with reading my e-mails, then I prioritise the day’s tasks. Then I start working on the briefs and do my best to respond to customer requests and those of our salespeople.
In your opinion, what is your greatest success at Hawk?
I’ve had several successes, but the most rewarding is seeing my creative projects come to life. Knowing that thousands of people will be able to see my creations on all the screens that Hawk can activate (mobile, desktop, TV, DOOH, audio, etc.) fills me with pride and satisfaction!
Apart from work, what gets you up in the morning?
I get up in the morning to have an even better day than the day before, I try to improve constantly and every day is an opportunity to do so, whether it’s through my work at Hawk, meeting new people, with my friends or through sport.
What 3 adjectives would your team use to describe you?
Inspiring, funny, and passionate.
Finally, what message would you give to future employees?
I would say to future employees who wish to join us that they will be warmly welcomed. Hawk is a big family, and we will always be there to support them and help them to understand the workings of the company so that they can grow, develop, and feel good about working for us, at Hawk.
