Each month, meet a new member of our team – this month we speak with Ricardo Nunes Mateus, Senior Creative designer at Hawk UK!
Can you quickly introduce yourself?
I’m Ricardo Nunes Mateus, I have worked at Hawk for a year and a half. Previously I worked in various entertainment companies such as Fox Media Networks & The Walt Disney Company where my role was regional creative designer.
What is your position and role at Hawk specifically?
I am the Senior Creative designer for the UK Creative team. My role is to support the creative lead as well as the rest of team in making impactful, engaging creatives for display, video, DOOH, audio, In-game and CTV. I also offer support to our clients, answering any queries they might have whilst contributing to feedback on previous campaigns.
What was the most sticking thing about your arrival in the adventure?
What stood out to me when I first embarked on my new adventure at Hawk was the pace and energy of the company. There is always something to get involved with(which I love) and the opportunities to learn and grow, which for me is inspiring.
What do your days consists of and what are your daily challenges?
At Hawk, each day is different: One day I could be making some awesome interactive ads, on another I could be helping develop the Hawk brand. However, typically for most days I will spend some time brainstorming ideas and concepts, developing these into creative ads and carrying out basic coding. The challenges of my role include working to tight deadlines, managing multiple projects at once, finding creative solutions to design problems, and keeping up with trends and technology in the field.
In your opinion, what is your greatest success at Hawk?
In my previous role, I worked with a few different clients and properties, however in my role at Hawk, I work with hundreds of different brands on a vast array of varying projects. So, I think my greatest success at Hawk has been the overall improvement in my ability to juggle all of these new areas of work; I have ‘upskilled’ in many new disciplines.
What 3 adjectives would your team use to describe you?
Your passion outside of work?
I have many passions outside of work such as gaming, cooking and football. However, something I have invested most time in recently is working on my health and fitness. This consists of going to the gym four to five times a week, as well as trying to play five a side football as much as I can. I find when exercising as well as improving my physical fitness, this also has great benefits for my mental wellbeing
