Miriam ThomasCan you quickly introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Miriam, and I am part of the German Hawk team. I have been working for Hawk since the opening of the German office in Cologne in 2016.
I started my professional life in classic advertising and have worked for different advertising agencies focusing on dialog marketing and healthcare before I turned towards programmatic advertising in 2010. I am passionate about new media and love the internet with all its possibilities regarding communication, new trends and creativity.

What exactly is your position and role at Hawk?

I am an account manager primarily for our clients who use our platform in managed service.
I make sure that programmatic mobile, DOOH or audio campaigns are planned from scratch, start in time, and provide successful results.

What did you appreciate the most when you joined the adventure?

First, the exciting challenge to establish the company in the German market.
And also, the fact that we have our own creative studio and are able to offer remarkable and unique ads in combination with the technical benefits of the DSP.

What do your days consist of and what are your daily challenges?

The good thing is: there is no notable routine – every advertiser and every campaign is different!
I am in contact with many people every day, exchange information in meetings and emails and consult with clients and colleagues.

Our clients are mainly media agencies, and an important part of my job is to advise them on how to reach their media KPIs, to support their planning process and provide them individual offers.
I also brief the creative studio team and make sure that they have everything they need to develop all kind of digital ads. After the approval process with the client, I hand over the campaign to the ad operations team to prepare the final set up. Once a campaign is running, I am in charge of trouble shooting, reporting, and of course I keep in touch with our clients and always try to find new opportunities for them.

In your opinion, what is your greatest success at Hawk?

One of Hawk’s strongest benefits is the service – in managed service as well as in SAAS. Being very satisfied with the collaboration, our customers book campaigns regularly, and we have a high customer retention rate. My success has been to keep this customer satisfaction on a high level over a few years now, especially when media agencies are convinced and decide to use our technology in self-service.

What three adjectives would your team use to describe you?

Outcome-oriented, funny, and creative.

Finally, what message would you give to future employees?

That HAWK offers a wide range of development opportunities in a good working environment and employees can contribute with their strengths and ideas in a meaningful way.
